At the Allianz Stadium, midfielder Adrien Rabiot scored two goals to lead Juventus to a 4-0 victory over Empoli. With this victory, Massimiliano Allegri’s club became the first team this season to win two consecutive Serie A games.
After their most recent match, in which they won a local derby against Torino by a score of 1-0, Juventus moved up one spot to seventh with 19 points, one more than Inter, who will play at Fiorentina on Saturday.
Forward In the eighth minute of play, Moise Kean gave the home team the lead by tapping in a lovely cross that was provided by Filip Kostic.
This was the first time in Serie A that the 22-year-old has scored in the league since April, and it was scored at the Allianz Stadium for the first time in 2018.
Just after the half-hour mark, Kean had another opportunity to score, but his header was just inches away from the target.
Mattia Destro, the striker for Empoli, had an opportunity to tie the game for his team, but Wojciech Szczesny, the goalkeeper for Juventus, did a good job of blocking his attempt.
Shortly after the halftime break, Weston McKennie scored a goal to increase Juventus’ advantage to 2-0. Juan Cuadrado sent an excellent pass, and the United States international headed the ball into the top of the goal.
Juve did not score again until Rabiot took advantage of another pinpoint ball from Cuadrado to make it 3-0 with a header in the 82nd minute. Kean’s attempt to enhance their lead was ruled out because he was offside.
The Frenchman finished off the thrashing with a goal deep into stoppage time, giving him his second brace of the season for Juventus across all competitions.
Following their match against Benfica in the Champions League on Tuesday, Juventus have a trip to Lecce scheduled for the following Saturday in Serie A.
On October 30, Empoli will play home to Atalanta, which is currently in second position in the rankings.
