Manchester City will begin their defence of their Premier League championship against West Ham

SportsManchester City will begin their defence of their Premier League championship against West Ham

On the first weekend of the new Premier League season, Manchester City will begin their defence of their championship away at West Ham United, while Liverpool will be on the road at Fulham.

In the 2022–2023 schedule that was released on Thursday, the newly appointed manager of Manchester United, Erik ten Hag, will have his first game at Old Trafford against Brighton, who defeated United by a score of 4-0 in the previous month.

The match against Newcastle will mark Nottingham Forest’s return to the Premier League after a 23-year absence.

After all of their competitors have kicked off their respective seasons, Manchester City led by Pep Guardiola will kick off their quest for a fifth championship in six seasons at the London Stadium on Sunday, August 7.

Everton, coached by Frank Lampard, almost avoided relegation the previous evening when they played against Chelsea, Lampard’s old team. Lampard now coaches Everton.

On Friday, August 5, Arsenal will have the privilege of opening the new season with a match away at Crystal Palace. This is the second consecutive season that Arsenal has been given this honour.

After playing each other in the Champions League over the week, Liverpool and City will resume their rivalry with a match at Anfield in the middle of October. The rematch is slated to take place at the beginning of April.

The match allocation for the Reds, in combination with their obligations in Europe, is not likely to please the team’s manager, Jurgen Klopp.

After their group stage games in the Champions League, they will play three consecutive road matches against Chelsea, Arsenal, and Tottenham.

On the weekend of November 12 and 13, the regular “Big Six” matches will not take place because they are being separated in preparation for the World Cup in Qatar, which will take place the following week.

On the 26th of December, when the season finally gets back underway, Leeds plays host to City, while United welcomes Forest.

On the last day of the season, City will go to Brentford, while Liverpool will play away against Southampton.
