An attacker has left three people injured at San Francisco International Airport

USAn attacker has left three people injured at San Francisco International Airport

On Friday, a man with a “edged weapon” assaulted travellers inside a terminal at San Francisco International Airport, leaving three people with scratches and scrapes before he was apprehended by officials, according to the reports.

At around six o’clock in the evening, the suspect drove to the airport, entered the International Terminal, “walked around the departure terminal and drew out an edged weapon,” and then attacked three other males.

According to statements made by airport duty manager Russell Mackey to the San Francisco Chronicle, the passengers were present in the pre-security area when the assault occurred.

When the police officers came, they apprehended a guy, but they did not immediately disclose his identity.

The victims were evaluated and treated for minor injuries before continuing on with their journeys, and other airport operations were not impacted, according to the authorities.

According to Russell Mackey, it was unclear if the suspect was a tourist, and the motivation for the crime was also unknown.

A huge knife was found at the site, according to a reporter from KTVU-TV who was covering the Golden State Warriors’ homecoming at the airport at the time.

Additional information was not immediately available.
