Early in 2023, it is anticipated that Apple will release a new version of the original HomePod as well as a smaller, more portable version of its HomePod smart home speaker.
Apple analysts Mark Gurman and Ming-Chi Kuo have predicted that the firm would bring back the bigger HomePod sometime in the first quarter of the following year, despite the fact that the larger model was discontinued in March 2021.
Reportedly, Apple is also working on a number of additional “Home” items, one of which is a gadget that combines a HomePod with an Apple TV and a FaceTime camera.
There is also the possibility that “a kitchen-bound gadget resembling an iPad mounted on a robotic arm is on the way.”
According to AppleInsider, the additional next-generation ‘Home’ gadgets might be released by the end of 2023 or the beginning of 2024.
At this time, the only model that Apple offers for sale is the HomePod small for $99. The first HomePod, which had a far more spectacular sound, was discontinued when its price was reduced from $349 to $299 in the previous year.
Smart speakers are “undeniably one of the fundamental components of the home environment,” as Kuo explains.
The industry expert also hypothesised that the colossal technology company is working on an updated model of the Apple TV set-top box with the intention of achieving a more economical pricing structure.
Apple’s revenue from wearables/home/accessories, which includes the Apple Watch, AirPods, and HomePods, fell by almost 8 percent during the company’s fiscal second quarter, going from $8.8 billion to $8.1 billion.
