The hearing scheduled for January 6 will not be shown live on Fox News

Fox News will once again be absent from the comprehensive coverage that cable news and network television will provide of the committee hearing that will take place during prime time on January 6.

Fox will not broadcast the hearing in real time; the network will instead devote the hours that traditionally have the biggest viewership to its regularly scheduled programming, which includes Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, and Laura Ingraham. According to a statement released by the firm, the hearing will be broadcast live on its sister network, Fox Business, beginning at 8:00 p.m.

Viewers of Fox News, the cable news network with the most viewers in the United States, will likely have to wait until midnight before any in-depth commentary of the evening’s events is shown on the network. At that hour, the host Shannon Bream will dedicate her nightly programme to discussing the issue in question.

The second prime-time hearing that took place before the committee a month ago was similarly not shown live on Fox News. The network broadcast its typical prime-time schedule at that period as well. Mr. Carlson informed those in attendance, as he has done many times in the past, that he was not going to give in to the “lying” of the committee. Mr. Hannity scoffed at the idea of attending the session, calling it a “sham.”

Hearings that have taken place throughout the day have been shown on Fox News, despite the fact that millions of Americans are not watching at that time. However, back then, the network was not nearly as popular as it is now. It was surpassed in ratings by CNN and MSNBC, which is a very uncommon occurrence.
