According to the Xinhua news agency, it was reported that the VGARus (Virus Genome Aggregator of Russia) database was updated with the following information: “Five genomic sequences ascribed to a BA.2.75 subvariant of Omicron type have been added.”
According to Rospotrebnadzor, the samples were collected in Moscow during the month of July. The agency also noted that all of the patients have a moderate version of the virus and have not been hospitalised.
The “Centaurus” virus is thought to have a high rate of transmission and was discovered for the first time in May in India.
